Business Finance Week 2023 – we’re committed to spreading awareness of the options for finance for SME’s

From 6-10 November 2023, Let’s Do Business Finance as well as multiple other finance providers across the UK joined in supporting the British Business Bank’s ‘Business Finance Week’ campaign, in an effort to educate and amplify support for businesses in their journey to growth and accessing finance.

The annual Business Finance Week campaign was in its second year in 2023 and ran over five consecutive days in early November, giving each a daily theme centring on a different aspect of business finance to give a comprehensive overview of the options available for SME’s and organisations who are considering different finance options for their growth.

To coincide with each theme, there were daily events on offer both online and ran in-person across the country, as well as the sharing of free resources and success stories from a businesses across a variety of sectors on social media.

Highlights of the campaign included webinars with panel discussions from both the British Business Bank and local and regional lenders, as well as business owners who had successfully utilised business finance in their journey towards their growth, with some focused events taking place in-person at ‘hubs’ across the UK that encouraged networking between business owners and finance providers.

Let’s Do Business Finance supported the campaign by promoting these events to their network, to showcase the many options for finance for businesses to unlock their growth, and to promote the availability of finance facilities to fit their individual goals. The Let’s Do Business Finance team also had the pleasure of taking part in one of the British Business Bank’s organised events this year at The Business Terrace in Maidstone, about how it’s possible for businesses to utilise ‘good debt’ to further their growth plans – with the event having a fantastic turn out despite the storm outside.

The team also took to social media during the campaign to share videos of advice and tips from their expert Business Managers about the different types of finance available, and how they could access it. In a Q&A format, these videos spanned from questions like ‘Is anyone eligible for a Start Up Loan?’ to ‘How can I use finance to innovate my business?’ – and aimed to break down in layman’s terms the possibility for finance in a way that truly represented how Let’s Do Business Finance go about their work – in a ‘people first’ fashion.

Although the Business Finance Week campaign has concluded for this year and is hoped to return next year, the team at Let’s Do Business Finance thought it highlighted an ongoing need to continue to push for more awareness for finance options for business owners, and the increased need to break down the barriers to accessing it, too.

As a Community Development Finance Institution, Let’s Do Business Finance prides itself on being a lender that is able to help where others may not be able – and the positive feedback and reception to the Business Finance Week campaign this year has reaffirmed our commitment to fostering financial literacy and support, driving innovation and development in our communities, as well as helping aspiring and existing business owners succeed with their plans.
